FSAC and Parent Council Meeting
FSAC and School Council meet on Tuesday evening in the Gathering Space. Use this link if you prefer to attend virtually. FSAC runs from 6:30 - 7:00 and School Council from 7:00 - 9:00.

On the School Council agenda this month is the first stage of the 2025-26 fee consultation process. Under Alberta Education’s School Fee Regulation, schools must consult with parents prior to setting school fees for the upcoming school year. We’ll be sharing information about our current fee structure, posing specific questions about priorities, and asking you to provide your feedback as we plan for the 2025-26 school year. While many of these activities and services enhance students’ educational experience, we want to ensure these fees aren’t cost prohibitive for families.
We understand not all families will be available to attend the meeting but it’s still important we get as much input from the school community as possible. Following the meeting, materials will be shared on our website for your review in the School Council section. Junior High Firebird Fun Day REMINDER
Firebird Fun Day will be held Tuesday, January 28 and will include two activities hosted at two venues. In the morning, students will be roller skating/ blading at Rollers Roller Rink in Edmonton and for the afternoon they will watch the movie Mufasa in a private screening at the Cineplex Cinemas at the Sherwood Park Mall.
Thank you to those who have provided permission for the Junior High Firebird Fun Day via permission click. A Permission Click reminder has been sent to those who have not yet responded.
Please remember, once you've provided permission, you need to also pay using the Parent Portal. If you need any assistance, please call the school office.
The deadline to provide permission and pay the associated fee is Wednesday, January 22.

Upcoming Hot Lunches
Happy Monday FTV Families. As we are still amid the cold and flu season, missing lunches can be unexpected. As a reminder you cannot cancel the orders (unless it is 5 days prior to lunch date) but can either donate the lunch to staff/student/volunteer, pick it up in office at noon or give to sibling to bring home. Please contact Carrie at ceckersley78@gmail.com to inform her of your choice.

Returning Student Registration for 2025-26
The Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) returning student registration process for 2025-26 takes place Feb. 10-24, 2025. Through the online form, all families will confirm the school and program their child will attend next year or advise the Division if they aren’t returning. For students who want to attend a non-designated school next year, these requests must be submitted through the returning student registration process—acceptance is based on available space.
On February 10, the parent/guardian on file in PowerSchool identified as the Permission Click contact for each pre-kindergarten to Grade 11 student will receive an email through Permission Click with a link to the form. If your family hasn’t received any Permission Click forms this school year, contact the school office so we can investigate any technical issues before registration season.
