January 27 Fire Wire

Happy Monday!

Thank you to our wonderful school community for the outpouring of care and compassion you extended our way last week. While our hearts were heavy, we took comfort in knowing our families support and care for us. Thank you FSAC for the Italian Centre treats delivered on Friday - the baked delicacies were delicious. The announcement for Mrs. Brzezicki's passing has been published and can be found here for those interested.

A reminder that this Wednesday is an EIPS Professional Learning Day and there will be no school for students. For junior high students, semester 2 starts Thursday which means new option classes. Junior high students will received updated timetables early this week.

It's a great week for a great week as we care for one another.

Please read through the following blog post articles for important Fultonvale information.

Morning Drop Off Reminder

Thank you to those parents and guardians who have been using the drop-off lanes, the SOC parking lot or waiting for the busses to leave before dropping off your child(ren) off in front of the school.

Unfortunately, we have had a very small number of people who are parking in the drop off lanes in the morning. Please refrain from parking in the drop off lanes. If you want to stop and have your child(ren) wait in the vehicle for a while, or you want to walk them up to their doors, please use the SOC parking lot.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Semester 2 and Option Changes

Semester 2 changes and new options for junior high students will begin on Thursday, January 30. Students must complete the first six days of their option course before any change will be considered. To request a change, a parent must email the school. Please note that while we will do our best to accommodate requests, changes depend on class space, resources, and maintaining balanced class sizes.

OPPORTUNITY

Staff Recognition

Please take a moment and click the link to share something positive that a staff member has done to shape our community and make your experience or your child’s experience at Fultonvale great. The email will be shared with the staff member, Ms. Ference, and Mrs. Vicic. Thank you for helping us build a strong community.

The link to the recognition form can be found under Quick Links on our website as well so you can access it easily whenever you want to give a shout out to one of our amazing staff

Did you know? School Trustee Elections

The next municipal election is on Oct. 20, 2025—an important component of this is the election of school trustees. Trustees are elected representatives who are knowledgeable about the communities they serve, and are accountable to students, families, staff and community members of a school division. Once sworn in, these individuals work diligently to promote and advocate for a strong public education system. Learn more

INFORMATION

Hot Lunch

Happy Monday FTV Families.  As mentioned last week, we are still amid the cold and flu season, missing lunches can be unexpected. As a reminder you cannot cancel the orders (unless it is 5 days prior to lunch date) but can either donate the lunch to staff/student/volunteer, pick it up in office at noon or give to sibling to bring home. Please contact Carrie at ceckersley78@gmail.com to inform her of your choice.

Here is the schedule as we wrap up January and enter February:

  • Thursday January 30 - Nitzas & Confetti Sweets (closes Sat. Jan. 25)
  • Thursday February 13 - Tim Horton's (closes Sat. Feb 8)
  • Wednesday February 19 - FatBurger & Confetti Sweets (closes Fri. Feb 14)
  • Thursday February 27 - Panago & Confetti Sweets (closes Sat. Feb 22)

We would like to remind ordering families to check their children's field trip schedules on the firewire/calendar from now until June. This will help in your ordering choices for the remainder of the school year. Thank you for helping FTV fundraise.
