Return to In-School Learning
This school year continues to deliver transitions and unknowns. I am so proud of the resilience that this school community continues to show. Thank you for your ongoing support and diligence.
Yesterday, Adriana LaGrange, Minister of Education, and Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Chief Medical Officer of Health, announced students will return to in-school learning on Tuesday, May 25.
As students transition back to classroom learning, it remains our goal to ensure COVID-19 transmission rates stay low, and students can continue school in-person through until the end of June—but we need your help to make that happen.
It’s critical you continue to monitor your child for any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 by completing the verbal COVID-19 Screening Questionnaire every morning before attending school. If you answer “YES” to any of the questionnaire questions, follow its instructions and use Alberta Health Services’ COVID-19 self-assessment tool, or call Health Link at 811, to determine next steps.
The public-health protocols in place prior to temporary online learning remain in place. We encourage you to review the EIPS COVID-19 Guidelines as a reminder of how schools are operating, expectations and public-health measures in place until public-health restrictions lift.
We know the past two weeks have been challenging for many families. Teachers and staff will work closely with students as they transition back to in-school learning. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
We are really excited to have students back in the building and look forward to the final 5 weeks of school.
